Moderne Innenarchitektur

Design.

Interior design of a property refers to the functional and aesthetic design of the interior spaces, while exterior design focuses on the external appearance and integration into the surroundings. Both areas are crucial for the overall value and quality of life of the property.

Interior design (interior architecture)

Interior design deals with the planning and design of the spaces inside a building to make them functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.

  • Focus: Optimizing space utilization, creating a specific atmosphere and considering the individual needs of the residents.

  • Elements: color schemes, material selection (flooring, wall coverings), furniture, lighting, and decoration. An interior designer can also plan structural changes such as new floor plans.

  • Objectives: To increase living comfort, improve quality of life and, if necessary, increase the value of the property for sale or rental.

Exterior design (exterior architecture)

Exterior design, often considered part of the overall architecture, focuses on the outer shell of the property and its surroundings.

  • Focus: The visual appearance from the outside, durability, integration into the landscape and compliance with local building regulations.

  • Elements: facade design, cladding, roofs, windows, entrance areas, terraces, landscaping and outdoor lighting.

  • Objectives: To create an attractive, appealing and harmonious overall impression (often called "curb appeal"), to protect the building structure and to adapt to the climate and environment.

interplay

Ideally, interior and exterior design work hand in hand to create a coherent and harmonious overall concept, where architecture, garden, and climate combine to form a functional space with added value. A seamless transition between indoors and outdoors is becoming increasingly popular, for example, through large glass fronts or the use of similar materials both inside and out.
